together we share stories

Here at Maples we like to share stories. Storytelling allows people to feel heard and validated, which in turn can reduce anxiety, normalise an experience, and help people accurately perceive their experiences. When we share a story we share a piece of ourselves with others.

Everyone has an individual story. People who have been through challenging events need to share this experience with others, it helps us make sense of them and process the emotions we are feeling. Sharing stories is an effective tool for mental health, providing a way to connect with others and work through traumas.

It’s been a busy two years at Maples! From fundraising and community events to our 30th anniversary and a fresh new website, we’ve got plenty to celebrate. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights.
